What are the differences between EyeWallet and other cold wallets?

The main difference between EyeWallet and other cold wallets lies in its use of biometric technology (iris features) to extract private keys, rather than the traditional method of storing private keys. Here are the differences between EyeWallet and other cold wallets:

Private key extraction method: EyeWallet extracts private keys using the user’s iris features, while traditional cold wallets store private keys on the device.

Private key storage method: EyeWallet does not store user’s private key data, instead dynamically generating and immediately destroying it when needed, thus reducing the risk of private key leakage or loss. Traditional cold wallets physically store private keys on offline devices.

Backup and sharing: EyeWallet can easily be shared among multiple devices, whereas traditional cold wallets typically require separate backups and cannot be easily shared.

Security: Due to its use of biometric technology and the fact that private keys are not stored on the device, EyeWallet can provide a higher level of security, reducing the risk of malicious firmware attacks, among others.

In summary, EyeWallet enhances the security and convenience of private keys through innovative biometric technology, making it distinctly different from traditional cold wallets in the cold wallet market.

Why use iris technology?

The iris is the circular area located between the black pupil and the white sclera on the surface of the eye. It contains rich texture information and a large amount of feature data. Although iris technology has greater implementation difficulty and higher costs compared to other biometric technologies, it offers superior uniqueness, accuracy, and stability. Therefore, it is commonly used in highly secure fields such as finance and military.

What is EyeKeyStore data?

EyeKeyStore data” is the term used to refer to the data generated by EyeWallet during the process of obfuscating and encrypting the original private key using the user’s iris features. This data is a string of meaningless binary sequences that result from the encryption process. It is designed to be stored securely, either on a USB drive, phone, computer, or in the cloud. When needed, EyeWallet can decrypt this data using the user’s iris features to extract the private key for transaction purposes. The use of EyeKeyStore data adds an extra layer of security to the private key extraction process, ensuring that the private key remains safe and protected

EyeWallet differs from other cold wallets that use fingerprint or facial recognition.

Some cold wallets utilize fingerprint or facial biometric authentication as an upgraded login method compared to PIN code entry. These traditional biometric authentication logins require pre-stored user biometric data, which is compared against during usage. Upon successful comparison, access to the cold wallet is granted, releasing the locally stored private key. EyeWallet, however, does not store any biometric data. When the user needs to access the private key, EyeWallet prompts the user to scan their iris, decrypts the EyeKeyStore data, extracts the private key, and immediately destroys it after usage

Will EyeKeyStore data be cracked?

EyeKeyStore data is built on modern cryptography and biometric technology. It obfuscates and encrypts 1024 bytes of iris feature data and 2048 bits of expanded private key data, resulting in meaningless binary data with countless combinations. Even with the most powerful computers currently available, it would take hundreds of centuries to forcibly crack it.

Will EyeKeyStore leak personal privacy?

EyeKeyStore data does not contain the user’s iris data or private key data. It is simply meaningless binary code obfuscated through modern cryptographic techniques. Various cryptographic methods are used to ensure that the data cannot be reverse-engineered, thus ensuring that user privacy is not compromised.

Could there be key leakage due to misidentification?

In common biometric technologies, the misidentification rate for fingerprint recognition is approximately 0.5%, for facial recognition it’s about 3%, while iris recognition has a misidentification rate of about 1 in 1.2 million. This is due to the excellent uniqueness of iris features. Additionally, EyeWallet also provides personal PIN code protection to ensure that key leakage due to misidentification does not occur.

Is it necessary to update eye information regularly?

Common biometric features such as fingerprints and faces may change over time and require regular re-collection and updating. However, iris features exhibit excellent stability: iris texture information is formed after 8 months of birth and remains unchanged for life. Once the wallet is created, there is no need for updates.

What if the eyes are injured?

EyeWallet extracts the texture from the iris stroma, which is resilient to common eye injuries. EyeWallet stores the private key in the irises of both eyes simultaneously, serving as backups for each other. Therefore, the private key can be decrypted and extracted using either eye.

What if there is an accidental death?

EyeWallet incorporates liveness detection features to prevent certain extreme biometric attack methods. Non-living targets are ineffective against standard EyeWallet devices. In the event of accidental death or similar circumstances, you can submit an application to EyeWallet’s official customer service, providing relevant documentation. EyeWallet officials will assist in issuing devices that support non-living biometric collection. However, devices with non-living functionality may have certain usage limitations.

How does EyeWallet ensure service continuity?

EyeWallet cold wallet is a hardware device that can be used completely offline and has secure interoperability. You can confidently use any EyeWallet device to restore your EyeKeyStore data. EyeWallet also provides mnemonic phrase extraction functionality. At any time, you can extract the private key mnemonic phrase from the EyeKeyStore data stored in private clouds or even personal email accounts and transfer it to other wallets. However, we do not recommend doing this because it would defeat the purpose of never storing the private key.

Does EyeWallet support an agent system?

EyeWallet does not pose a risk of firmware tampering or supply chain attacks, so there is no need to ensure security through direct sales on the official website. EyeWallet fully supports an agent system and welcomes like-minded partners to join in creating a safer blockchain ecosystem together.

Will VR headsets like Apple’s Vision Pro collect user iris data? Will these devices be used to attack EyeWallet wallets?


Apple’s Vision Pro or other similar devices may feature built-in eye-tracking cameras, and some devices may use these cameras to implement iris authentication functions. Typically, device manufacturers have a series of privacy protection clauses to ensure that user biometric data is not abused. Even if hackers use devices like Vision Pro to surreptitiously capture users’ iris data, EyeWallet’s special obfuscation encryption algorithm prevents the stolen user data from being used to decrypt EyeKeyStore data in reverse.

Is EyeWallet software open source?


As a hardware wallet, EyeWallet can be used with various mainstream open-source DApps, such as MetaMask, OneKey, and others. When users perform transactions or DeFi operations, they can choose to use any wallet from the supported list in conjunction with EyeWallet.

Does EyeWallet require users to provide their private keys?


EyeWallet team members or any official EyeWallet application will never ask you to provide your private keys! If you encounter any entity/portal/application… requesting your wallet’s private keys, you should not proceed and notify us!

Can the official EyeWallet decrypt EyeKeyStore data?

Decryption of EyeKeyStore data to extract private key data requires two conditions: first, the user’s live iris feature data, and second, the PIN code information set by the user when creating the wallet. Neither the EyeWallet official team nor anyone else possesses the above conditions. Therefore, the EyeWallet official team cannot decrypt any private EyeKeyStore data.

What to do if EyeWallet is lost?

EyeWallet is simply a tool for extracting keys securely from EyeKeyStore data. Even if EyeWallet is lost, there’s no need to worry about data leakage leading to asset loss. You can purchase a new EyeWallet device through any channel and import the EyeKeyStore data to continue using the original wallet.

What to do if EyeKeyStore data is leaked?


EyeKeyStore data is generated by EyeWallet through an algorithm that obfuscates and encrypts the user’s iris biometric features with their private key, creating unique data. The obfuscated and encrypted EyeKeyStore data is just a meaningless binary code. The user’s private key information can only be decrypted and extracted using the user’s real-time scanned iris data. EyeKeyStore data does not contain any user’s original iris information or original private key information. Therefore, even if EyeKeyStore data is inadvertently leaked, there is no need to worry about personal privacy leakage or asset damage. However, we still recommend that you store your EyeKeyStore data properly to avoid unnecessary leakage or loss.
